Meet Loey!
Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Loey is an actor, playwright, and director based in Boston, MA. They are a member of the Emerson College Class of 2024, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and Performance, as well as a minor in Hearing and Deafness. At Emerson, Loey was an EVVY award nominee, and as a senior, received the Nicole duFresne award for women in acting and playwriting. As an actor, Loey is trained in the Linklater, Alexander, and Meisner Techniques, stage combat (broadsword, quarterstaff, rapier and dagger), improvisation, movement, musical theatre singing, and devising. Favorite credits include After Magritte (Thelma), Little Women (Jo March), Death of a Salesman (Willy Loman), The Secret in the Wings (Actor 3), and As You Like It (Duke Frederick). In the spring of 2024, she was invited to collaborate in a movement-based workshop of Space Rock | Doorstop by Annie G. Levy. Loey currently portrays Mrs. Sarah Pierce Grant at the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.
Outside of her theatrical sphere, Loey is an avid knitter, crocheter, and sewer of their own clothes. They occasionally play the flute, and have found a deep sense of empowerment in learning and practicing American Sign Language. They are the proud mom of the coolest cat in the world, and are currently working towards their goal of reading 20 books in 2025.

RECENTLY...
I played Thelma in Deadword Theatre Company's production of After Magritte by Tom Stoppard. This production ran October 10-20, 2024 at the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Theatre, and was a truly fantastic experience.

I am so excited to be back with Deadword Theatre Company, this time performing as Cobbler/Servant/Citizen in Julius Caesar! This production runs at the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Theatre from March 6-16. More information and tickets here!

I am thrilled to announce that I have recently been cast in Nothing by the Rain, an MFA Thesis film from Emerson College. It begins shooting in late April - more to come soon!
