How Macy Survived Without Her Wisdom Teeth
Jess is in love with Winnie, but can’t admit it. Winnie loves Macy, but is also terrified of her. And Macy? She just had her wisdom teeth removed. Over the course of a harrowing day, the three college freshmen reveal their true feelings and intentions for one another. Internalized homophobia, months of resentment, and violent tendencies come to the surface as Jess and Winnie attempt to care for Macy after her surgery. As Macy sleeps, Jess confronts Winnie about their dying friendship, and Winnie’s coldness only alienates Jess more. And through it all, Macy’s anesthesia-induced haze wears off, leaving her with a raw, murderous rage that must eventually show itself. How Macy Survived Without Her Wisdom Teeth is a dark comedy about fear as truth, unfiltered young emotion, and what lengths we will go to for the people we love most.
