As a director, I am captivated by stories that explore queerness, morally complex relationships, and youth. I am particularly interested in exploring these themes using methods that break societal standards for female and gender non-conforming people. I am movement-oriented and love the process of devising. Through my directed work, I am continuing to explore the juxtaposition between comedy and violence, and how emotional extremes can be portrayed in unexpected physical ways.

Prune by Lorelei Barcelos

Prune by Lorelei Barcelos was produced through the Emerson Stage NewFest Short Works festival in March 2024. I cast and staged this production, while also acting as an independent sound and set designer. This production was an exploration of surrealism, metaphor, and what it means to be trapped. It was also my first opportunity to lead a devising process, which culminated in a 90-second long partner movement piece, which was incorporated into the production.

Lighting Design by Deb Sullivan & Spencer Swetlow; Stage Management by Mariana Morales; Production Supervision by Katie Meade; Intimacy Coordination by Genevieve Howley.

Cast: Carli Bertonneau, Conall Sahler, Hannah Bossange, and Kell O’Bryan.

How Macy Survived Without Her Wisdom Teeth (Self Written)

How Macy Survived Without Her Wisdom Teeth was produced by RareWorks Theatre Company at Emerson College in March 2023. I worked collaboratively with my peer Spencer Daniel on casting, directing, set designing, and dramaturgy. Over the course of the rehearsal process, we worked with the cast to rework several moments in the script, including the culminating moments of the show. This production was an investigation of melodrama, queer coding, and modern hyperrealism. It was my first time directing my own work, and the experience was deeply nerve wracking, humbling, and empowering. This script was nominated for Outstanding Writing for the Stage at the 2024 EVVY Awards.
